Description

Municipal Archivist with a drive for digital development

Do you want to help shape the future of digital information management? We are looking for a municipal archivist who wants to take a central role in the development of our e-archive, strengthen the municipality's information management, and contribute to a modern and legally secure document management.

The role suits you who thrive in an environment where development, collaboration, and a strong commitment to the needs of the operations are an obvious part of everyday life.

Responsibilities

As one of two municipal archivists, you will have a broad assignment where you work both strategically and operationally. You coordinate issues related to information management, participate in the development of common working methods, and support the organization's employees in creating structure and quality in their processes. The work involves close collaboration with registrars, administrative staff, information security coordinators, competencies in digitalization and IT development, and other specialist functions. Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that the municipality's information is managed and preserved in the long term, efficiently, and legally securely.

Your assignment includes driving the digital development of our e-archive. This means that you participate in both planning and implementation of digital deliveries, develop routines and guidelines for digital preservation, and ensure the quality of metadata, information packages, and formats. You also work on providing advice and training, conducting archiving investigations and supervision according to the Archives Act, as well as performing searches, disclosures, and cataloging work. The position also includes regular tasks within our analog archives and, if necessary, supporting the registry during periods of high workload/vacations and possibly acting as a data protection officer for our municipal companies.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who feels at home in both everyday support for operations and in long-term development work. You are analytical and solution-oriented and have an easy time creating order in complex flows. Taking responsibility for your work, planning your everyday life, and completing what you start is a given for you. The role requires you to see the big picture while being able to clarify details and pedagogically explain the importance and benefits of good, long-term information management.

To succeed in the role, you need to have a university degree in archival or information science, or other education deemed equivalent. You should have very good knowledge of archival legislation, public access, and confidentiality as well as GDPR. A good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, is a necessity as the role involves extensive communication and guidance. You should also have an understanding of digital information flows and technical systems, as well as sound judgment in matters concerning confidentiality and disclosure. Experience from municipal operations, work with digital archives, development projects, KLASSA, or project management is highly meritorious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

The position is placed within the Administration and Investigation unit, which among other things works with archives, municipal common registration, and committee administration. The unit gathers competencies that together develop modern, efficient, and secure processes that strengthen the municipality's democratic mission. Here you will have the opportunity to influence and contribute to long-term quality in an organization that values continuous improvement work in everyday life, initiative, and collaboration.

We look forward to welcoming you who want to help build a future-proof and sustainable archive function.

Interviews may begin before the application period has ended.

The positions will be security-tested/classified.
